As a parent of four children, a veteran educator who spent thirty-two years in the Atlanta

public school system, author H. Jean “Star” Gray has a passion for continuing education

and success for today’s youth and the development of the family, which she addresses

in her latest book, “Train Up a Child” Proverbs for Modern Parenting.

Star is a results-oriented professional, devoted Christian, educator, writer/poetry author,

parenting coach, child advocate, and public speaker. She is a native of Georgia and

graduated from Brenau University, Gainesville Georgia, and the Institute Of Children’s

Literature, in Connecticut, and Child Development.

Gray believes many parents today want to be good parents, and the essential principles

of life and parenting can be found in the book of Proverbs. She pulls the scriptures from

Proverbs to give expectant and present parents step-by-step instructions for spiritual

parenting and scriptures to help them avoid modern pitfalls and down-spiraling

dilemmas!

Todays’ parents want a family that goes to church online without the children

participating, with both parents working, having a family business, a perfect social life,

as many vacations as they want, a big bank account, and a picture-perfect family! She

believes this is a parent’s daydream! Gray hopes her book will shine a new light on our

parenting dilemma! Most importantly, she informs parents how to raise children through

the Proverbs in the Bible.
